“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ…” Galatians 6:14
I’m having deja vu, or for those who speak film rather than French, there’s been a glitch in the Matrix.
18 stone Daf has sat (rather heavily) down at his desk for the first time in 2016 having not managed in 2015 to: Eat less, start running again, have daily deep and meaningful times with the Lord in his word and prayer, share the gospel with zeal with unbelievers, be patient with his wife, not exasperate his children.
So I’m resolving to admit that I can’t keep my resolutions!
Instead I’m going to admit that:
1. I am a wretched sinner – so that I can rejoice in God’s forgiveness more.
2. I am a weak – so that I can rejoice in God’s strength more.
3. I am self-righteous – so that I can rejoice in God’s grace more.
4. I am proud – so that I can rejoice that despite all of the above and more, I have been so loved by God that he sent his one and only Son, the precious Lord Jesus Christ, to die for me.
Now all I have to do is remember that everyday!
